I normally wouldn’t be wasting my time thinking about what I would be dressing my newborn up as…but my daughter is 2 1/2 and this will be her first year that she would enjoy going out and trick-or-treating, so we are going to take her. Her first halloween, she was a ghost, and her second, she was a bumblebee, both homemade costumes with tutus. I love the girly dress up costumes, which is why I’m having a hard time coming up with an idea or a costume for my son, who will be around a month old for halloween. I just thought it would be cute to dress him up as well. I would like to dress him up as Yoda, but the costumes are 0-9 months, and I think it would look pretty big and probably not the best, so I hate to spend money on it. My daughter was around 8 months old and wore a 6-12 month for her first halloween, so she was a different size baby to work with. If anything-I’ll just put the halloween sleeper we were given on him. Any ideas? What did or are you dressing your newborn up as, or planning to?
So, Halloween is quickly approaching and I need to get started on Halloween costumes. This is the plan:
7 yr old- Darth Vader
6-yr old- Luke Skywalker
4 yr old- Yoda
6 mo old- Chewbacca
So, the question is- when making these costumes, what accessories MUST these characters have? What I mean is, take Darth for example- does he really need the chest armor or will it look too chintzy without it?
Also, do wookies have tails? Do you think the whole costume needs to be made of fur? (it’s kinda hard to work with) If not, which areas MUST be furry?
Thanks for your help! My husband is a Star Wars nerd, but thinks I’m nuts for trying to get these costumes done in only a few weeks!

Following are Instructions for Making Baby Yoda Halloween Costume
Materials
Light green or natural colored hooded sweatshirt
Cardboard
Sewing machine
Needle and thread
Sharp fabric scissors
Straight pins
Directions:
1. Cut out the ears. Yoda’s head is easy to make and requires little sewing. Cut the sleeves off the sweatshirt at the elbow. Take each sleeve and draw two large triangle shapes to resemble Yoda’s large ears. Cut out each shape (total of four) and match them up in pairs. Cut two pieces of cardboard to fit into the center of each ear.
2. Assemble the head. Sew or glue the edges of each ear together, making sure that the cardboard is inside of each. Sew the ears onto either side of the green hood. The cardboard should keep them erect and sturdy enough to stand out.
3. Make the cloak. Yoda’s cloak is intended to look homemade and a little ragged. Take measurements of the wearer to make sure you allow enough material for both length and width. Cut out the material, allowing for the body portion of the cloak, and sew together. Next, cut out enough material for the arms, which are rather wide and baggy, and sew each arm together. Last, sew the arms to the cloak tunic.

My Master Yoda toy from McDonald's has the action to speak the same thing each time, but I press the button each time and I can't understand him. Is it a quote, or a gliding noise.
I would like to make a yoda cake for a friends birthday. I am not interested in just putting little plastic figures on a cake, I am looking for a really cute yoda shape. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks
